The Kasoa District Evangelism Ministry of The Church of Pentecost has embarked on a prison outreach to the Awutu Camp Prison, bringing hope, comfort and the gospel of Jesus Christ to inmates.
The visitation, which took place on Monday, September 21, 2026, formed part of the district’s evangelism activities for the second half of the year. It was aimed at reaching out to persons in confinement in fulfilment of Christ’s charge in Matthew 25:36 — “I was in prison and you came to visit me.”
The outreach was led by the District Minister, Pastor Paul Asante, together with the District Evangelism Leader, Elder James Hator Zando, the District Evangelism Secretary, Elder Emmanuel Walker, and other members of the ministry.
In his message on the topic, “For God So Loved The World,” Pastor Asante drew from John 3:16 to remind inmates that God’s love extends to all humanity, regardless of their past or present circumstances. He explained that no offence or mistake places a person beyond the reach of divine grace and that a genuine encounter with Christ can transform lives and give a fresh start.
The team also interacted with the inmates, listened to their concerns, prayed with them and offered words of encouragement. Through the preaching of the Word and personal evangelism, 18 inmates responded to the altar call and gave their lives to Christ.
The team encouraged the new converts to hold on to their faith and assured them of continued visits, prayers and support from the church.
As part of the visit, the church presented donations including food items, toiletries, water and clothing, valued at about GH₵8,000, to support the welfare of the inmates.
The donation was received by DSP Seth Owusu, on behalf of the inmates.
The outreach reaffirms the Kasoa District’s commitment to taking the gospel beyond the walls of the church auditorium to where hope is needed most, demonstrating that no one is beyond the reach of God’s love and grace.
