The Kwadaso Sector of the Pentecost Students and Associates (PENSA), in collaboration with the Adansi Asokwa, Nsuaem, Aboabo and Bodwesango districts in the Obuasi Area of The Church of Pentecost, embarked on a weeklong aggressive evangelism exercise which saw 1179 people (including 125 children) surrendering their lives to Christ.
In line with the vision of the Youth Ministry, “Grounding Young People in Christ and Unleashing Them to Possess the Nations,” the sector, under the leadership of Pastor Isaac Donkoh, the PENSA Travelling Secretary, mobilised 79 committed PENSA members from five tertiary institutions within the sector for a weeklong evangelism exercise. The institutions were Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), Akrokerri College of Education, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology-Obuasi Campus, Fomena Nursing and Midwifery Training College, and Royal Ann College of Health,
Prior to the aggressive evangelism exercise, the team was camped at Adansi Asokwa Prayer Centre for a three-day fasting and prayer retreat to equip them for the task.
The Obuasi Area Head, Apostle William Boakye Agyarko, together with some ministers in the Obuasi Area, graced the retreat on the last day.
Addressing the students, he commended them for their relentless efforts and zeal for soul winning. He advised them to preach the gospel news of Jesus Christ in season and out of season because it has the power to save the lost.
“The Gospel is the only accredited tool which has the propensity to transform the life of a person,” he said.
Apostle Agyarko prayed for them, after which the students were dispatched in groups to the towns and villages within four districts. As part of the outreach programme, they engaged in various evangelism activities including personal evangelism, dawn broadcasting, and film evangelism.
At the end of the outreach, 1179 people, made up of 1,054 adults and 125 children, made a decision for Jesus Christ. Out of the total number of converts, 313 underwent water baptism by immersion, while 117 received Holy Spirit baptism.
The team was hosted at the various locations from Monday, June 13, when the outreach commenced, to Sunday, June 19, 2022, by Pastor Kennedy Eshun (Adansi Asokwa District), Pastor Justice Ahadzi (Aboabo District), Pastor Samuel Awinpika (Bodwesango District) and Pastor Stephen Agyemang (Nsuaem District). The Adansi Asokwa Prayer Centre Leader, Elder Joseph Kwasi-Ampong, also provided immense assistance to the team to ensure a successful outreach.
