“No human was created an island. We are created as social beings and to have interactions with one another.”

This was said by Pastor Patrick Kobbina Bremansu, the New Achimota District Minister of The Church of Pentecost during the Achimota Area Youth Joint Service dubbed ‘Socializing without Sexualizing’ held on Monday, 23rd April, 2018, at the Achimota Central Church auditorium.

Pastor Patrick Bremansu who also doubles as the Achimota Area Youth Pastor urged Christian youth to stay pure whilst socializing.

According to him, to socialize means to mix socially with others, interacting with one another, whilst sexualizing means to have sexual intimacy with someone.

He said most friendships start as acquaintances then to casual friends and later into real or close friendship. “There is a great need to teach our youth the best way to socialize without sexualizing so as to preserve our nation,” he said.

Touching on the importance of socializing, he said the Bible is so clear on Ecclesiastes 4:9 (Two are better than one, because they have a good [more satisfying] reward for their labour).

He encouraged the youth to build good relationship with others for godly purposes.

Pastor Bremansu also explained the psychological differences between males and females and how each should be treated. He said women are emotional, intuitional, receivers, want to be pampered, and most at times quick to judge, whilst men are logical in their dealings, practical, impersonal in most situations, need of admiration and respect.

He said to a man sex is exclusive but to a woman sex is her totality.

He mentioned some skills needed for socializing as neatness, maintaining proper eye contacts during face-to-face interaction, being flexible, teachable, assertive and proper use of body language.

“Lust deviates godly principles to get what it wants. Love follows God’s principles to get what it wants,” he stated.

He identified what lust stands for and what true love means. He then advised the youth to flee from lust-triggering materials such as pornographic materials and other sinful environments.

He concluded by urging the youth to pursue purity since it gives them freedom in all areas of their lives.
