The Sefwi Wiawso Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle John Obeng Kesse, and wife Eunice, in collaboration with the Area Women’s Ministry, have organised a memorable get-together for about 400 widows and widowers in the Area.
The event took place on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at the St. Joseph Formation and Pastoral Centre at Sefwi Datano.
In a short message titled, “How to Get Better and not Bitter” based on Hebrews 12:15, Apostle Kesse advised the participants not to entertain bitterness in their hearts due to the difficulties they may go through in life but rather put their faith in God and be thankful to Him always for His goodness.
“The only way to ensure happiness in this life is to let go of grieve and to forgive those who offend you,” he stressed.
For her part, Mrs. Eunice Kesse encouraged widows to desist from staying idle, but rather get busy with some kind of trade. She stressed the need for them to support themselves and their families with simple businesses like selling of sachet water, ‘Sobolo,’ and making of beads.
Citing herself as an example, she advised widows not to wait for a ‘bigger’ opportunity or money that was not even available but should learn how to start with the little they have and manage it to grow.
Mrs. Kesse seized the opportunity to educate them on how to produce simple items like body lotion, soap, detergent, and others.
During the interaction session, some participants shared inspiring success stories with their colleagues.
A medical team from the Sefwi Wiawso Government Hospital was present to provide free medical screening to the participants.
Assorted gifts were presented to the widows and widowers at the event.
In attendance were some ministers and their wives in the Area.
