It was a harvest of souls as a total of 341 persons, comprising 247 adults and 94 children (with a majority of them being Muslims), surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ during the Stratified Evangelism exercise organized by the New Tafo Area of The Church of Pentecost.
Out of the total souls won, 69 of the adult converts underwent water baptism.
The soul-winning oriented programme, which was the brainchild of Apostle Samuel Osei Asante, the Area Head, was spearheaded by the Area Evangelism Ministry, led by Pastor Kennedy Eshun, who also doubles as the Pankrono District Minister.
The event, which took place from Monday, May 7 to Saturday, May 12, 2018, was held simultaneously in four districts
within the Area, namely: Yennyawoso, New Tafo, Old Tafo and Mile 3.
It was preceded with a float in each of the four districts, with the members holding placards displaying Gospel truths and distributing Gospel tracts and event fliers as part of efforts to publicize the programme and to reach out to many with the gospel message of Jesus Christ.
The members of the Yennyawoso District were highly elated as their procession was joined by the Area Head and the Area Evangelism Leader during the float.
The week-long event was characterized by dawn broadcast, door-to-door evangelism in the afternoons at various locations including drinking spots, salons, barbering shops, filling stations, taxi rank, and restaurants, among others. Gospel Films were also shown (Video Evangelism) in the evenings at vantage places with a massive influx of people.
In the Yennyawoso District, the films were shown at Moshie Zongo second station (Muslim Community), Dichemso Old Town, Airport Roundabout and Osofo Abodwese, with Pastor Andrew Adu-Amankwaah (the District Minister) and his wife, Mrs Agnes Adu-Amankwaah in attendance.
The souls won are being followed up intensively by all the follow-up teams within all the districts involved to ensure that they are well established in Christ and become responsible disciples.
