Apostle Emmanuel Adjei Kwafo, Ho Area Head and Executive Council Member, has declared that the message of the Cross remains God’s ordained power for winning souls and transforming societies, urging participants at the 2026 PENSA Ghana Gospel and Power Conference at the PCC Centre to recommit themselves to bold and faithful proclamation of the Gospel in these perilous times.
Delivering his message at the conference, Apostle Kwafo explained that his central topic, “The Message of the Cross” highlights four enduring truths: there are nations to possess, societies to transform, agents God has equipped for the task, and divine empowerment made available through the Holy Spirit. He stressed that the present generation carries an increased responsibility for evangelism, noting that although times and contexts have changed, the message of the Gospel remains unchanging.
Drawing from Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1, he explained that the Gospel is rooted in the eternal Word of God, which existed before creation and was Himself God. He added that this Word became flesh in the person of Jesus Christ (John 1:14), through whom all things were made. According to him, the Gospel is not a human philosophy or idea but the proclamation of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Apostle Kwafo noted that when the Gospel is preached in divine power, it redeems sinners from the grip of Satan and ushers them into a transformed life in Christ, with the hope of eternal life. He described the Gospel as a spiritual transmission of the person of Christ into the hearts of people, stressing that its content is Christ Himself, not human wisdom.
Referencing 1 Corinthians 1:17–24, he observed that while the message of the Cross may appear foolish to those who are perishing, it remains the power of God unto salvation for those who believe. He added that the Cross intimidates the enemy because it proclaims Christ’s death, resurrection, and eternal victory.
He urged believers to prioritise the preaching of the Gospel above all else, noting that sharing the Gospel does not require special training or certification. “The little you have heard is enough to share,” he said, encouraging Christians to rely on faith in Christ rather than credentials. He also emphasised that effective Gospel proclamation must be supported by holy living, reminding believers of their role as ambassadors of reconciliation.
Concluding, he stressed that the Gospel is meant to be proclaimed, not stored, urging the Church to move beyond its walls to make lasting impact through the transforming power of Christ.
