The Mamponteng District in the New Tafo Area of The Church of Pentecost climaxed the 2018 Christmas Convention with a colourful service held on Sunday, December 23, 2018.

The convention which was observed from Wednesday 19th to Sunday 23rd December, 2018 was held under the theme, “We have come to Worship” (Matthew 2:1-11).

The District Minister, Pastor Jerry Kusi Acquah, gave a biblical exegesis on Old Testament prophecies concerning Jesus Christ, the Messiah with scripture references from Genesis 12:11; 17:19; 28:14; 2 Samuel 12:13 and Micah 5:2, as proofs foretelling the coming of Jesus Christ.

“There are 30 quotes in the Old Testament that give insights about the birth of the Messiah, 25 passages are clear relating to the events about Christ Jesus, while eight defines His life on earth not as a spirit, but as a man,” he revealed.

Reading from Matthew 2 and Luke 2, he outlined the significant events of the birth of Jesus Christ. One of such was the three Wise Men who made a stop at Herod’s palace instead of following the star. “The story directs us as believers to focus on Jesus and never lose focus. I pray that whoever has lost focus in his or her Christian life should have his star restored in Jesus Name,” he said.

Pastor Acquah stated that accepting Christ is the wisest thing to do, saying, “A wise man seeks Christ; a wise man finds and worships Christ and offers unto Christ. I therefore urge you to give your all unto Christ for redemption has indeed come,” he concluded.

The convention witnessed song ministrations, dancing and testimonies about the goodness of Jesus Christ.

The service witnessed a total attendance of 1,034 comprising 706 adults and 328 children.
