The La Area of The Church of Pentecost has successfully organised a three-day convention for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), resulting in significant spiritual impact, including seven souls won for Christ, six baptised in the Holy Spirit, and one baptised in water.
The convention, held from Thursday, December 4 to Saturday, December 6, 2025, took place at the Adabraka Central Assembly and was organised by the Ministry to Persons with Disabilities (MPWDs) of the La Area. The event brought together over 100 PWDs from various Districts within the Area for a time of fellowship, worship, teaching, and celebration of God’s love.
The primary objective of the convention was to demonstrate the love of Christ to persons living with disabilities and to reaffirm their value and place within the body of Christ. This was achieved through inspired ministration of the Word, a carols service, songs of praise, a relationship-focused talk tailored to PWDs, as well as shared meals, which fostered unity and inclusion among participants.
Throughout the programme, the atmosphere was charged with joy and gratitude as participants openly expressed their appreciation to God and to the leadership of the Church for recognising them and creating a space for meaningful fellowship. Many testified to feeling loved, accepted, and spiritually refreshed, particularly during the festive season.
Several ministers and facilitators contributed to the success of the convention. These included Pastor Samuel Nii Engmann, La Area MPWDs Coordinator; Pastor Emmanuel Osei Agyapong; Pastor Emmanuel Opoku Mensah; and Pastor Hamza Obuobi Osei. Also supporting the programme were Mrs. Cynthia Anane and Mrs. Mabel Amuzu Cudjoe, wives of the Accra Newtown and Merry Villas District Pastors, respectively, whose involvement added warmth and encouragement to the gathering.
The ministers exhorted participants to remain steadfast in their faith, reminding them that disability does not limit God’s purpose or calling upon a person’s life. They further encouraged the Church to continue prioritising inclusive ministry that affirms the dignity and worth of every believer.
The convention stands as a testimony to the Church’s commitment to holistic ministry and inclusivity, demonstrating that the Gospel is for all people, irrespective of physical ability. The spiritual outcomes recorded underscore the impact of intentional outreach and compassionate ministry when the love of Christ is expressed both in word and in deed.
