The Koforidua Area of The Church of Pentecost commenced the 2018 Easter Convention on Thursday, 29th March, 2018, under the theme: “I Want to Know Christ and the Power of His Resurrection” – Philippians 3:10.
This year’s convention is being held at two locations; Jackson Park, Koforidua and PRESTEC Park at Adukrom-Akuapim, under the chairmanship of Apostle Eric Nyamekye, the Area Head.
Elder Kwadwo Ansah of New Tafo Area in Kumasi preached the gospel at the Koforidua zone on the topic: “From Jerusalem to Golgotha.” He enumerated how Jesus was trialled, condemned unjustifiably, beaten, tortured and maimed, all because of His love for humanity and the urge to save man from his depraved nature.
Elder Ansah used the occasion to share his salvation story- how Jesus saved him from womanizing, and other forms of deviant behaviours. “Through His suffering and the blood shed on the cross, I am and Elder of God’s Church,” he stated.
Eight souls were won for Christ during the alter call. The atmosphere at the convention ground was electrifying as members could literally feel the presence of God when Elder Dr Kwasi Mireku took over the stage to minister soul inspiring songs.
The convention will be climaxed with a gospel rock show on Sunday evening.
