The successor of renowned Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke, Daniel Kolenda of Christ for all Nations (CfaN), has urged Christians to keep the fire of the Holy Spirit burning.
Evangelist Kolenda said this on the night of Thursday, May 17, 2018, at the Empowered21 Africa congress currently underway in Johannesburg, South Africa. It is on the theme, “Living to Impact Generations through the Holy Spirit.”
Basing his sermon on Exodus Chapter 3, where Moses encountered the burning bush, Evangelist Kolenda admonished Christians to get on fire for the Lord if they want God to use them mightily in their ministries.
“If you do not have signs and wonders following your ministry, seek assistance from the Holy Spirit,” he advised.
According to him, whenever God has a plan or a strategy, He looks for someone who He can work with and also the geographical location of the person. He advised Christians to be available for the use of the move of the Holy Spirit.
He further explained that Moses found himself in the desert alone, stayed at the back of the desert and in a very uncomfortable place; however, God used him, saying, “Before God can use a person, He takes him through the fire.”
Evangelist Kolenda also used the occasion to debunk the notion by some scientists and biologists who think that the parting of the Red Sea by Moses was not a miracle and that the Israelites crossed the Red Sea of a depth of six inches of water. “How can six inches depth of the Red Sea drown the Egyptian people as stated in the Bible,” he questioned, saying, “God exists and signs and wonders and miracles do exist and it still operational in this dispensation.“
According him, most Christians and the various denominations in the world have become comfortable and are competing in material things such as building nice auditoriums, driving expensive vehicles and what have you, adding, “Seek the Holy Spirit who gives power and distinguishes one or set one apart from the lot. The Holy Spirit is always evergreen.”
The service was also characterized by prayers and healing session.
