The Sefwi Wiawso Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Edzii Davidson, has revealed that believers have been empowered by the Holy Spirit to serve as effective and efficient ministers of Christ, thereby fulfilling God’s purpose on earth.
According to him, one of the ways God demonstrates His might is through evangelism, where He transforms hearts and minds to align with His will, making believers more like Christ through renewal.
He stressed that since believers have been endowed with divine power, they are required to demonstrate it for effective evangelism.
Speaking on the topic, “Demonstrating the Power of the Holy Spirit in Evangelism” (Acts 8:5–8) during the 2026 PENSA Ghana Conference on Friday, January 2, 2026, at the KNUST Campus in Kumasi, Apostle Davidson explained that God bestowed His disciples with power as divine validation of their message and their role as Christ’s representatives.
“The power is a confirmation that God is working behind the scenes to bring many to His saving knowledge. It serves as a conviction for unbelievers that there is more to life than what they possess,” he stated.
He further noted that every believer is called to establish God’s rule by demonstrating His love and power to a world in need, ensuring that His Word continues through them.
Apostle Davidson stressed that demonstrating the power of the Holy Spirit through evangelism is essential for effective witnessing, as it provides evidence that God is alive.
“Whenever we allow the Holy Spirit to work, people come to the saving knowledge of Christ, and God is glorified. All these powers have been given to believers, with signs and wonders following as evidence that He is the Living God,” he said.
He explained that the power of the Holy Spirit at work significantly contributes to resolving conflicts and animosities by changing individual perspectives about Christ and fostering understanding of the Christian faith for greater acceptance.
As part of demonstrating God’s power, Apostle Davidson prayed for the congregation, resulting in healing for many in the auditorium, while others were baptised in the Holy Spirit.
