The National Head of The Church of Pentecost (COP) in Uganda, Apostle Emmanuel Bekoe, has stated that God allows His children to go through turbulent periods in life with the aim of propelling them to greater heights.
According to him, God is a good shepherd and always makes provision for His children no matter the circumstances they face.
Apostle Bekoe said this on Monday, May 7, 2018, on Day One of the ongoing “Favour Conference” of Born Again Worship Centre in the Achimota Area of The Church of Pentecost. The event is under the theme: “The Lord Is My Shepherd, I Shall Not Want.”
Inferring from the story of Saul in 1Samuel 9:24 and 1Samuel 10:7, Apostle Emmanuel Bekoe said that Saul was being led by God to be anointed a king over Israel while he was searching for his father’s donkeys. Little did he know that a feast was being arranged for him on his arrival at Zuph. At Zuph, although Saul wanted them to return to his father because he might get worried, his servant suggested that they go and see a prophet he knows in the town for help. Saul listened to his servant and agreed to see the Prophet, Samuel.
“While embarking on the search, Saul had no idea that he was being led by God to have a feast with the Prophet, of which a fat portion of meat had been set aside for him, and also to be anointed king of Israel and to be equipped to work for the Lord,” he said.
Apostle Emmanuel Bekoe said that, in the same way, the Lord leads Christians into tough situations for greater glories only if they abide in Him. He advised them to remain resolute in the Lord because He is their shepherd and will provide all their needs (Psalm 23:1), adding that: “since God is our leader, He’ll be our light and salvation.”
Concluding his message, Apostle Bekoe encouraged all believers to rest in God’s divine plan.
