“The believer receives divine empowerment to enable him/her remain in the basic message of Christ, without which it is impossible to remain in Christ.”
This was said by Apostle Anthony Kingsley Miah, the Berekum Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, during a visit to the Jinijini District.
Empowerment, he said, comes from anointing (not mechanical) by the Holy Spirit who indwells the believer and walks with him/her everywhere and at all times.
The message titled, “Empowered to Remain in Christ and His Basic Message” based on 1 Samuel 10:6-11; 16:10; Acts 1:8 and 1 John 2:24-27, the Area Head said the Holy Spirit is the One who enables the believer to stick to Christ.
Apostle Miah stated that the presence of the Holy Spirit changes one to a better person. According to him, when the “ordinary” Saul was anointed, he changed and became extraordinary. David also received the anointing and was able to conquer Goliath.
He however said character must come with the anointing to ensure sustainability. “Saul failed in life because of bad character, whilst David succeeded because he had a good and repentant heart. Therefore, any believer or minister who desires to succeed in life must combine anointing with good character,” he noted.
Concluding his message, Apostle Miah spelt out the effects of anointing, that is the ability to study and understand the word of God in order not to be deceived by false teachers, living a victorious Christian life, excelling in one’s chosen career, operating in the gifts and fruit of the Spirit and making a difference at all levels.
The service was crowned with impartation of Spiritual gifts.
