The Dunkwa Atechem District Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM) of The Church of Pentecost, on June 17, 2018, organized a dinner to honour all fathers in the District on Father’s Day.

The event, which took place at Tuffour Hotel in Dunkwa, brought about 500 people both members and non-members from various families to wine and dine together.

The purpose of the event was to show gratitude to fathers for the role they play as heads of the home and to sensitize members on the need to show love, care and honour to fathers.

It was also an opportunity to educate the church members on the role of fathers in the home and to strengthen fellowship among members.

The Chief of Atechem, Nana Dorman II, who was the Guest Speaker for the event, thanked the leadership of the ministry for taking the initiative to celebrate Fathers in the Church. He encouraged parents to take proper care of their children and admonished fathers to effectively play their roles as head of the home.

The Dunkwa Atechem District Minister, Pastor Twene Adane Justice, on his part, encouraged Church members to honour their fathers. According to him, honouring fathers is a spiritual command that must be obeyed.

He urged them to honour their biological fathers, spiritual fathers, guardians and other people who have served as role models in their lives. He advised members not to neglect their fathers but take care of them.

As part of the event, some members of the Children’s Ministry recited poems and citations in honour of fathers, after which the District Women’s Ministry Leader, Deaconess Juliana Oduro, on behalf of the women, paid tribute to all fathers in the District.

Mr Francis Ansah also read a citation in honour of Nana Dorman II for his exemplary leadership.

The occasion was spiced with various cultural display especially the kete dance. The event drew some clergymen and royals. Notable amongst them were Pastor Adomako Boakye (Mfoum District Minister, COP), Pastor Anthony Dadzie, (District Minister, Atechem Christ Apostolic Church) and Elder (Nana) John Keane Marfo (Tufuhene, Subinso).
