The Assin Foso Area of The Church of Pentecost has organised its first mega all-night service in 2018.
The programme, which was chaired by the Area Head, Apostle Sylvester Arhin, was held on zonal levels on February 2 and February 9, 2018 at Assin Foso and Twifo Praso respectively.
Addressing the congregation at Twifo Praso on February 9, the Area Head called upon Christians to take God by His word and walk in faith wherever they find themselves. He took his scripture reading from 1 Samuel 17:4-10; 24-25 and 45-47 and explained that, it is now time for children of God to rise to their feet, face life squarely and learn to say good things into their lives to enable them become victorious.
“Christianity is full of spiritual battles, but by faith, Christians are bound to overcome all obstacles, because the Son of God has been revealed to destroy the work of the devil,” he said.
Apostle Arhin expressed his dissatisfaction about the way some Christians allow the devil to intimidate them and put them in bondage. He stated that the Philistines were able to silence the Israelites by the violent and intimidating words spoken by their captain, Goliath.
“To make the Israelites feel inferior, Goliath addressed them as servants to Saul. Such an address caused the Israelites to forget that they were the children of God and that God called them His people.
“In like manner, Satan tries to keep Christians in bondage by calling them all sorts of names. However, when Christians remember that Christ has suffered the penalty for their sins and has paid the debts thereof in full following His death on the cross, they can never be intimidated and humiliated by the devil,” he opined.
“David did not give up when he was intimidated by his own brothers; discouraged by King Saul and threatened by Goliath, because he took God by His word.
“Goliath was defeated when David took the step of faith to fight him. Let nothing dismay you. David killed Goliath and brought victory to the Israelites when his father, Jesse, sent him from Bethlehem to the battlefield.
“In the same way, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, who was born at Bethlehem, to destroy the works of the devil and bring victory and deliverance to those who believe.
“Put your trust in Jesus, for with Him, you are more than a conqueror,” he said.
