Members of the Accra-Newtown District in the La Area gave the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, and his family, a rousing welcome when they joined them for Communion Service on Sunday, September 2, 2018.

As customary in The Church of Pentecost, the first family of the Church will fellowship with the Dr. Thomas Wyatt Assembly throughout Apostle Nyamekye’s tenure as Chairman.

The Chairman and his family were introduced to the congregants by the General Secretary, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi.

In his remarks, the Chairman expressed gratitude to God for the undeserving honour He has bestowed on him to lead the Church.

“I have always known that Chairmen of the Church fellowship here at Dr. Thomas Wyatt Assembly. But I never thought that I will one day join this assembly as Chairman of the Church. May the name of the Lord be praised,” he said.

Apostle Nyamekye also thanked the immediate-past Chairman, Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah, for the confidence reposed in him to have chosen him as his successor.

The Chairman was also grateful to the congregants for the wonderful reception they accorded him and his family and urged them to continue to support them in their prayers.

At his own request, Apostle Nyamekye knelt down for all the Elders of the Church to lead the congregation to pray for divine grace to enable him fulfil his new mandate.

After the prayer, the Chairman, in turn, offered the closing benediction to mark the end of the service.

The event was graced by the outgoing La Area Head, Apostle John Appiah Aidoo, Pastor George Ankomah (Accra-Newtown District Minister), and other ministers of the Church within and outside the country.
