YOU ARE THERE FOR A REASON

Esther 4:4-14

EXPOSITION:

Mordecai sent to Esther an authentic account of the plot against the Jews and charged her to intercede on their behalf. He sent her a true copy of the edict that Haman had secured so that she will see what imminent danger she and her people were in.

Esther sent a message back to Mordecai, that she could not do that without the peril of her life and entreated him to find another intercessor. Indeed, the law was explicit and all knew it, that whosoever came to the king uncalled should be put to death, unless the king was pleased to extend the golden sceptre to them, and it was extremely doubtful whether she would find him in such a good mood.

Mordecai sent a message to Esther that “Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?”(4:13-14, NIV).

Probably it was for the deliverance of the Jews that Esther mysteriously was made queen. My dear, there is a particular reason why God has placed you in that position, job, community, school, house, church, among others. You are thereby God’s divine design to accomplish a divine purpose. We should therefore prepare ourselves as instruments in the hands of God ready to do the Master’s bidding.

PRAYER: Lord, use me to accomplish the purpose for which You brought me here.

MEMORY VERSE FOR THE WEEK: “For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?" (Esther 4:14, NIV).
