Exposition

The Creator of the entire universe (God) formed us uniquely into His very image to continue His divine mandate on earth. Man is a tripartite being consisting of three parts, namely body, soul and spirit. The Body is the part that contacts the tangible things of the material world using the five physical senses. The soul implies our mind, will, and emotions as seen in our preferences, choices, desires and emotional responses to life situations. The spirit is the part that connects and communicates with God when we believe in God and receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. The body is the expression of humanity, while the soul is the source of our expression, and the Spirit is the channel through which we experience God. Therefore, man is a spirit, has a soul, and lives in a body. At salvation, the spirit is saved, the soul is being saved through the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2), and our bodies shall be saved on the last day.

This means that you are saved from the penalty of sin, you are being saved from the power of sin and you will be saved from the presence of sin. Believers must have adequate knowledge about the role, effect and management of their emotions (Emotional intelligence). This week we will be studying our emotions and how to manage them to ensure that the spirit, soul and body are kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ as our reading indicated.
