Exposition:
Are you a Christian when no one is watching? Are you a Christian who does not only profess Christ but also possesses Christ? Are you a Christian only on Sundays or every other day? Being a Christian does not equate to self-righteousness but living a life just like Christ, who is our perfect example. The word “Christian” is sometimes confused with “churchgoers’’. Today a lot of people claim to be Christians, displaying religiosity and confession of Christ’s followership. This reality is so prevalent that many true Christians no longer understand the differences between them and nominal Christians. Christians are not of the world, though they live in the world (John 17:14-16).

The believers in Antioch were first called Christians (Acts 11:26) because the people of the city saw that they lived a Christ- like lifestyle. A Christian, therefore, is one who has truly repented of his sins, accepted Christ as his personal Saviour and, as a result, lives a righteous life in this sinful world. Many call themselves Christians but have little tangibility of what they profess. May the Lord help us to possess what we profess. In this corrupt world, where corruption has become the order of the day, Christians must arise and allow their light to shine, saying no to corrupt practices. Corruption benefits the unscrupulous to the detriment of others. It is evil.
