THE CHRISTIAN, BRIBERY AND CORRUPTION

SCRIPTURE READINGS: Ephesians 4:22-24, Micah 3:11, Isaiah 1:23

EXPOSITION:

Corruption is the wrongful use or misuse of influence (positional or material) to procure a benefit at the expense of other people. It includes bribery (giving, receiving, or soliciting anything of value to influence a decision), conflict of interest, nepotism, misappropriation, extortion and theft. If you look at the Transparency International’s latest Corruption Perceptions Index, more countries are labelled as “highly corrupt” than not. Corruption has become one of the single greatest obstacles to development around the world. As such, corruption has become a pervasive issue which every Christian must rise up against and stand for godly values, touching the country by the fire of the Holy Spirit because corruption is an evil desire. If Christians would rise and shun corruption, the light of Christ would permeate more into our society. After much prayers and fellowship, we must live by acting on God’s word to the world.

This song encapsulates the prayer of a Christian who seeks to be true every time:

Keep me true

Lord Jesus Keep me true

Keep me true

Lord Jesus Keep me true

There is a race I must run

And there are victories to be won

Give me power every hour to be true

PRAYER: Father, you are the one I need. Help to do your will by your word. I do not want to be a part of this. I am a Christian.

MEMORY VERSE FOR THE WEEK Jeremiah 17:11 (NKJV) - “As a partridge that broods but does not hatch, So is he who gets riches, but not by right; It will leave him in the midst of his days, And at his end he will be a fool.”
