EXPOSITION:

All individuals who genuinely accept Jesus Christ as Lord and personal Saviour with their hearts and openly confess same are automatically baptized into the body of Christ. This is the universal church (both triumphant and militant) of the saints of who have been identified with the blood of Christ and are in union with Him. When people confess the Lordship of Jesus over their souls, the Holy Spirit literally takes them and baptizes them into the body of Christ. Anybody who has not as yet confessed Jesus Christ as their Lord and saviour are not baptized into the body of Christ.

Many who were born into the church or were born by Christian parents think that is their baptism into the body of Christ. The passage clearly indicates that as many as received Him, to them He also gave them power to become children of God. This means, God does not have grandsons and daughters but to all who believe, He sees as sons and daughters. The common denominator is by faith in Christ and not by one’s birth, background, race or colour.

Some marks of our baptism into the body of Christ are our earnest of the Spirit and having an inner witness that, the Spirit of God dwells in us (2 Corinthians 1:22, Romans 8:9). It also leads to the bearing of the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Furthermore, those who have being baptized into the body of Christ live peacefully with all other saints devoid of race, colour, ethnicity and status. They have the peace and the anointing within and their spirits testify with the Spirit of God that they are the children of God. Do you feel the same way as a child of God?
