STARTING WELL WITH MONEY

Ecclesiastes 7:12

EXPOSITION:

George Horace Lorimer, an American journalist, author, and publisher, has said that: “It’s good to have money and the things that money can buy, but it’s good, too, to make sure that you haven’t lost the things that money can’t buy.”

Interestingly also, Napoleon Hill in his book ‘Think and Grow Rich’ pointed out that: successful men, in all callings, never stop acquiring specialized knowledge related to their major purpose, business, or profession. Those who are not successful usually make the mistake of believing that the knowledge acquiring period ends when one finishes school.

Starting well with money in life has a multiplier effect on virtually every decision one undertakes – physical, moral, economic, political, and social needs. More importantly, your insight, knowledge, understanding of the functions of money in the light of your stand as a Christian, and the zeal and passion with which you approach it will determine the foundations on which you start well.

Money is good for many reasons, but, at the same time, money has made many people slaves and agents of destruction and unhealthy lifestyles. Monetary issues thrive in an environment where there is consciousness, orderliness, adhered principles and policies, focus, honesty, contentment, selflessness, and open-mindedness evaluated on hard work and consistency.

MEDITATION:

How will you assess your starting point in the use of money?

PRAYER: Pray about the insights you have received.

MEMORY VERSE FOR THE WEEK: Ecclesiastes 7:12 (NKJV)- “For wisdom is a defence as money is a defence, but the excellence of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to those who have it.” #PossessingtheNations
