We are created by God in His image and since we are His creation, we do not own ourselves. God is interested in what we do with our bodies. We were created for dominion and worship. Acceptable worship requires presenting your body as a living sacrifice, which means denying the body the pleasures of the world. The Bible is the manual to a godly life. Every appliance has a manual which the manufacturer expects the consumer to read before and during its operation. Failure to read and obey the manufacturer’s instructions can result in the breakdown of the appliance.
The Bible is the manual of the Christian. All scripture (manual) is inspired by God (manufacturer) and is useful in teaching us (appliance) what is true to make us realize what is wrong. Paul urged Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:14 to remain faithful to the things he had been taught because Timothy attested to them as true and can trust those who taught him. In the same vein, I urge you to remain faithful to your Maker and believe that God is equipping you to do every good work.
