EXPOSITION
Have you seen a baby separated from the mother before? They cry until the mother picks them up. God commanded Adam and Eve, not to eat the fruit from the tree that was in the middle of the garden, else they will die. He did not mean physical death but spiritual separation from Him.
When Adam and Eve disobeyed God and thus became sinful, the relationship between God and man in the garden changed. Man then became like a baby separated from its mother.
The only way that brings man back to God is salvation through Jesus Christ.
LESSON LEARNT: Sin brings separation from God. Do not keep sinning.
