EXPOSITION:

Having received hope for the future through the resurrection of Jesus, the Christian is expected to live a new life in Christ. When a seed is sown in the soil, in about three days or more, it geminates with fresh and a new leaf. So should the Christian! Through baptism in water, we die and rise with a new life in Christ.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation: The old has gone, the new is here! (2 Corinthians 5:17). One must burry the old nature when one comes to Christ. Because of that, one must not live to conform to the patterns of this world. When you continue to allow the old nature to rule your life; to dictate for you, then you are still under the dominion of sin. Scripture says that anyone who is in Christ is a new creature and not a rehabilitated sinner! Indeed, the old is gone and the new has come! This means that, the life of the new man must be conformed to that of Christ Jesus. This changing from the old to the new is done by God through Jesus Christ.

Apostle Paul advices in Romans 12:2 that, the new man should not be conformed to the world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind to prove that which is good. Our lives must constantly be filled with the renewing of our mind with the word of God in order to live your life always as a new man in Christ.
