Exposition

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were three Hebrew boys who had been taken into captivity at Babylon. When they arrived there, they lived a God-fearing life that pleased king Nebuchadnezzar so much that he even appointed them over the affairs of Babylon.

After some time, the King made an idol and requested that everyone bow to it. Although everyone bowed to it, the Hebrew boys refused to do so. This is because they knew it was against their faith in God. They knew that God would not be happy with them if they did.

Today, the idol represents the things of the world, sinful lifestyles and things not pleasing to God. Are you going to bow to sin and make it overcome you? Are you going to support sin and make it a trend? No! Remnants don’t bow to sin. They stand firm on the word of God. Remnants don’t care if everybody is bowing to sin; they please God, not men. He that lives in remnants is greater than he that is in the world. They could not imagine bowing to anything lesser. Sin rather bows before them.

If you are bowing to any form of sin, I charge you to rise in Jesus’ name! You are God’s remnant, and you must not bow. Shake off the dust and tell yourself “Remnants don’t bow”. If you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, I  challenge you to do so now to become part of His remnant who overcome sin.
