Exposition:

In life, everything we do that is hinged on God becomes very successful. Today’s passages of scripture teach us to put God first in our studies. We must let God take His rightful position in our academic life as well. Proverbs 1:7 teaches us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge (ESV). This means that if we want to acquire knowledge to impact others, it starts from fearing God and living as He expects us to live. From James 3:17, we learn that the wisdom from above (God) is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. This means that divine knowledge or wisdom is fruitful and very impactful.

Sometimes, some students think that they went to school to learn and nothing more. Do not put God aside and think that you have gone to school only to learn. The truth is that you cannot ignore God and succeed. Our battle in this life is not against flesh and blood (Eph. 6:12). Let God occupy the first position in your life and all other things will fall in place as admonished in Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
