Exposition
Influence is the capacity to have an effect on the character, development or behaviour of someone. On a wider scale, societal influence comes in when one has the capacity to influence large groups, numbers, communities and even nations. Undoubtedly, some of the greatest influencers in society are pop stars, musicians, actors, actresses and players in entertainment. They are able to channel the power of music and entertainment to control the behaviour of society. Otto Pfister was a dressing style that was very prominent amongst many young males in Ghana in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

The name of the style that involved sagging one’s jeans below the waist level was adopted because of a popular German football coach who dressed like that in the 1990s whilst coaching in Ghana. By default, a Christian is called to be a social influencer. Jesus calls us the light of the world! We are regarded as light because we have to shine forth the knowledge of the gospel of Christ in the midst of this dark world. You are an influencer by default if you are a believer in Christ.

This week, we will dive deeper into the qualities that we need to possess in order to influence our society. We will study biblical characters and examine their lives and their character that made it possible for them to influence their world. Influence is key to possessing the nations. Influencing is a subtle but potent way to win your world without warfare!
