Our sin ruins us in two ways. It makes us guilty before God, so that we are under his just condemnation; and it also makes us ugly in our behaviour, so that we disfigure the image of God we were meant to display. Sin damns us with guilt and enslaves us to ‘lovelessness’. The blood of Jesus frees us from both miseries. It satisfies God’s righteousness so that our sins can justly be forgiven.

The blood of Jesus defeats the power of sin that makes us slaves to ‘lovelessness’. Christ absorbs the wrath of God and takes away our guilt. How does the blood of Christ liberate us from the slavery of sin? In Hebrews 13:12, Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood. This means that the shedding of his blood on the cross has sanctified you and set you free from the slavery of sin.

Now sin has no dominion over you again. You have been rescued from the power of sin and from the wrath of God. Allow the power of the Holy Spirit to rule your very life and sin will have no place in your life as a young person.

In Revelation 1:5-6, we read that by the blood you have been freed from sin and have been made a kingdom, and priests to His God and Father. May the God of all grace, by faith in Christ, free you from both the guilt and slavery of sin.
