Exposition:

Many of God’s children don’t have any challenge with the fact of God’s omnipotence. They believe He is All-powerful and can do all things. However, the trouble is having faith that God is willing to demonstrate His surpassing ability towards them as far as meeting their needs are concerned. Many Christians are very cautious and moderate when it comes to asking things from God because some feel asking too much may make them look worldly, or give God so many tasks to do. Thus, in trying to be considerate they tone down on their request so it will be easy for God to answer.

However, Paul comes clear on God’s surpassing ability to respond to any need of ours, not only that but even our imaginations or our wildest dreams. No prayer request is big enough to shake God. In the Romans 8, Paul asks a question, that if God did not hesitate in giving up His only Son for us, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Ephesians 3:20 also gives a similar message. Putting the two scriptures together, we realize that God is not only able but also willing to do far more abundantly above what we can ask or think according to the power that works within us.

In 2023 ask and imagine great things on your God can do it so that He alone takes the glory for what happens to you. There is nothing we can ask or think off that is worth more than the Son to the Father. He said, “ask for the nations and I will give you the ends of the earth as your possession” (Psalm 2:8). Go ahead and ask! You have been given a blank cheque, make your request. Why wait for 2023?
