Exposition
In every skill, talent or gift that you receive, God expects that you grow in it. You may not be a prolific writer per say, but God has called you to document your experiences with him and to also write for generations. In today’s scripture reading, Jesus states that the road to being the greatest is to be the servant of all. Also, the Bible mentions in 2 Peter 3:18 that you must grow in grace.

To grow in your writing grace, you must first make time to be the servant of all by reading. Stephen King, an American author said “ If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: read a lot and write a lot.” The essential step, then, to improving your writing is to read a lot. When you read, aside the information that you receive, you improve upon your diction and glean new writing skills too.

The Bible is a unique collection of the various writing forms; history, poetry, parables, etc. When you read the Bible, aside building your relationship with God, you also glean and build on your writing skills. Similarly, there are enough literature of good writers that you can engage with.

Summarily, to develop your writing skills, read about what you want to write, choose the right words (diction) to communicate your idea, consider your readers by using short sentences and paragraphs, use catchy illustrations and scenarios, and also pay attention to editing and proofreading. In a generation where Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming the next phase of technology, God is calling on you to write to the benefit of future generations. Develop your writing skills as we write to possess the nations.
