GOING BEYOND YOUR JERUSALEM

SCRIPTURE READING: Acts 1:1-8

EXPOSITION:

The disciples of Jesus had walked with their Master for at least three years and had learnt a lot from Him through His doings and sayings. The whole mandate of Jesus here on earth was to establish the kingdom of God and His righteousness by possessing the nations through transformation.

This week our study shall focus on the doings and sayings of the Apostles popularly referred to as The Acts of the Apostles. By implication, we can say that it is what Jesus continued to do and teach when He ascended into the heavens through the Apostles.

LIFE APPLICATION

The disciples of Jesus wanted to remain in Jerusalem and therefore longed for the kingdom to be restored to it. Their main question to their Master was: “Are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Jerusalem? Jesus answered them and said, “You shall be my witnesses not only in Jerusalem but in all Judea, then to Samaria and to the ends of the world after the Holy Spirit has come upon you.”

The Church of Jesus Christ has always been a movement and not a monument. We must there think globally and make the gospel of Jesus attractive to all. Going beyond our Jerusalem simply means influencing beyond your immediate surroundings.

PRAYER: Pray as you are led by the Spirit. #PossessingtheNations
