Exposition

The Holy Spirit is the main strength behind the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Right from the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus was strengthened by the power of the Holy Spirit to be able to go through the persecution. Through this same power of the Holy Spirit, our Lord Jesus Christ was raised from the dead.

The Apostle Paul expressed his desire to know more about Christ and His death when he said: “I want to know Christ-yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death” (Philippians 3:10). Though the Apostle Paul knew Jesus, he still wanted to become more deeply and intimately acquainted with him and also to know the power of his resurrection and the strength it gives to believers. He denied himself things that would prevent him from attaining that feat.

The resurrection power and life are for you. The fullness of the spirit is for you. The resurrection power is available to every Christian every day of his life. God wants your life to be a demonstration of the very same power of the Holy Spirit that raised Christ from the dead (Romans 8:11). For you to know and experience this same power of his resurrection, you must make self-denial from the things of this world your utmost priority.

When you intimately seek Him in the direction of His word and prayer, the resurrection power is always available. You must be willing to share in His sufferings as to be transformed daily into his likeness, dying to sin and the world. In doing that, your daily life will be a demonstration of the greatest miracle, that is, the resurrection power.
