“ENDURANCE, A KEY TO OBTAIN GOD’S FAITHFULNESS”

Daniel 3:1-30; Hebrews 12:2-3; Philippians 2:9-11

EXPOSITION:

In the plain of Dura rose three men who were ready to sacrifice their lives on the altar of faithfulness to God. They told the king about how unwilling they were to defend the claims and accusations hurled against them. They made the king know how great the God of Israel is and how powerful He is to save them from the fiery furnace and how zealous they were to die if there was no salvation on their side (Daniel 3:16-17).

Whether dead or alive, they were ready to pay the price of endurance. They boldly declared their faith to Nebuchadnezzar. Culminating from their endurance which was otherwise seen as disobedience to Nebuchadnezzar, they were thrown into the fiery furnace. But Jesus, the Son of God, showed up in the fiery furnace. It looked like the fiery furnace has now become fireproof. This miracle revolutionized the whole province.

Their faithfulness to God necessitated a move of God which finally opened the way for them to progress from one position to another. Jesus Christ, our perfect example endured the cross in pain. Now, he is seated with God in the heavenly places. Also, his endurance has won him the name that is above every other name.

LIFE APPLICATION

As Christians, we must stand firm in season and out of season. We must do everything possible to remain faithful and endure in this crooked and perverse generation. Jesus says in John 16:33 that we should be of good cheer for he has overcome the world. Jesus never told us things will always be easy for us.

PRAYER: Lord, grant me your grace that I may touch the prize for which you called me.
