CONSEQUENCES OF PARTIAL OBEDIENCE (II)

1 Samuel 15: 1-23

EXPOSITION:

The second personality who practiced incomplete obedience was king Saul. His refusal to completely destroy the Amalekites brought serious consequences to him and his kingship. God regretted making him king over Israel. A man whose selection to the throne was marked by various prophetic signs was rejected by God due to disobedience.

As Christians, we must be very careful to fully obey the Word of the Lord. We must be willing to submit to instructions and policies that God brings through the church leadership. Total obedience and humility will take us to the place God has destined for us. Let us make God proud of us and where He has brought us.

QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTIONS:

  • Am I making God proud of my lifestyle as a Christian?
  • Am I living in total obedience to God, His Word, and the authority He has placed over me?

PRAYER: Pray to be pleasing to the Lord in all your ways.

MEMORY VERSE FOR THE WEEK: “Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey; whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness.” Romans 6: 16 (NIV) #PossessingtheNations
