EXPOSITION:

In Matthew 11:29; the Scripture states that, “Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Jesus Christ did not boast of his equality with God so that men would approve of him. He rather humbled himself even to the point of death. He has become a perfect example to us, therefore, Christians should not boast, especially when God gives us the grace to perform miracles.

The Bible tells us in today’s reading that the wise man should not glory in his wisdom. The conclusion of the whole matter is that we should renounce all reliance on human wisdom, greatness, the wealth of the world, but rather glory only in knowing Jesus. This is what God delights and seeks from us.

This is because none can save themselves by their own works, or any worldly means. The Scripture teaches us that it is vain to pride yourself in what you have but rather trust in the Lord and rejoice in Him who can deliver.
