Exposition:
The Bible gives us a real account of the origin of human beings, and that story helps us to appreciate the value of people. In the reading, we understand that God is the source or creator of males and females of all races and ethnic groups. We have been created in the image and identity of God, so in effect, we all bear his image and likeness. Therefore, all the peoples of all continents – all lives, have come out of one man and woman (Adam and Eve). God, Himself, has blessed all people and expects that we multiply in numbers to fill the surface of the earth.

God saw that everything He had made, including human beings, was “very good”. In Acts 17:26 we read that “From one man He (God) made every nation of men (human beings) that they should inhabit the whole earth, and He determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live”. God did this so that men (human beings) would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us. This presupposes that people of all races, ethnic groups, geographical locations, and language groups can be traced from the same source.

We have been put in different parts of the world at different times, so we can honour God and seek Him. We must therefore not discriminate or look down on anyone due to race, colour, economy, etc. For all are one created by one God. All are from one man.
