Being God’s Tool For Transformation.

Scripture Reference: 2 Chronicles 16:1-10.

Exposition:

A tool is a device or implement, especially one held in the hand, used to carry out a particular function. It refers to all implements used in performing or completing a specific job or task.

Transformation refers to a marked change in form, nature, or appearance or a process by which one figure, expression, or function is converted.

In each generation, God looks for men and women, and boys and girls who will want to see a marked change within their environs for Him to use them as an implement or device to carry out a particular function or to complete a specific task.

In our reading today, we observed that King Asa, king of Judah, was under attack by king Basha, king of Israel. Out of fear, King Asa took all the silver and gold from the treasures of the house of the Lord and sent them to the King of Syria for help. He relied on the King of Syria instead of relying on the Lord.

This act of the king displeased the Lord and so God sent Prophet Hanani to reprimand King Asa for failing to rely on him. Before this, Israel had fought the Ethiopians and Libyans who were a larger army than they were. However, when they relied on the Lord, the Lord gave them the victory. The Lord, through the Prophet, said in verse 9 “For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have done a foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war.”

The Eyes of the Adonai is going through the Whole earth and the essence of this is to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. Are you going to be one?

Don’t be like King Asa, who would rely on God when he thought he couldn’t do anything in a particular situation but when it came to a certain situation where he thought he could do it, he ignored God. The Lord wants to be the Lord anytime, everywhere, anyhow and in whatever situation we find ourselves. Allow Him to bring transformation to you.

Welcome to this week’s devotion, where we will be discussing being God’s tool for transformation. “A Holy Minister is an awful weapon in the hand of God”.

Prayer Guide: We desire to be useful tools in your hands oh Lord!
