Topic: Same-Sex Marriage; A Wrongful Addition.

Scripture References: Genesis 2:18-24; Matthew 19:3-6 & Romans 1:26-28.

Exposition:

Marriage was ordained by God Himself in the garden when He said; “it is not good for man to be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him”. The only thing that God said was not good in the creation story was for man to be alone. God then formed Eve from the ribs of Adam and initiated this union by bringing Eve to Adam. This did not end with a silence mood after the deep sleep, rather Adam approved of it by declaring; “This is the bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman’, for she was taken out of man”.

The only reason the word of God gave that guarantees a man to leave his father and mother to be united with his wife is under this holy institution marriage. The institution of this union is thus between a biological man and a biological woman. It is only this same institution that qualifies a woman to be called a wife likewise a man referred to as a husband. This was the original institution God made for us; any other form of marriage not having this form is not from God. Male and female, He made them from the beginning, marriage then has to do with a biological man (identified from birth) leaving parents (mother and father) and joining with his wife, who should be a biological female (from birth identification) and becoming one flesh.

There is no provision for same-sex marriage. Apostle Paul also spoke against homosexuality and considers it a vice against God. Same-sex marriage is a wrong addition to God’s beautiful plan of initiating marriage and a needless subtraction to what God instituted between man and woman in the Garden of Eden.

Prayer Guide: May God stop current wave of same-sex perversion that is blowing across the globe. Amen.

Memory Verse For This Week: Psalms 91:1 & 2- “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
