The Media Ministry of The Church of Pentecost in the Dunkwa Area has organized a day’s seminar for pastors and members in the Area.

The seminar which took place on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at the J. K. Prah auditorium, was on the theme: “The Media and the Church in this Contemporary World.”

It was aimed at educating the participants on the impact of the media in preaching the gospel, and to let them know the expected role of the media in achieving Vision 2023 of the Church dubbed “Possessing the Nations.”

It was also to sharpen the skills and knowledge of participants on using the social media to reach the lost and how to effectively preach on radio and other media channels.

The Area Head, Pastor Jones Awuah Afrifa, in his keynote address, applauded the leadership of the Media Ministry in the Area for the initiative.

According to him, the media play important role in society, such as creating and shaping public opinion, strengthening society, while serving as a watchdog of society.

“In a period that God is leading His Church to possess the nations by using the Church to transform every sphere of society with values and principles of the kingdom of God, and we being agents of transformation, God will use this seminar to equip us for the task ahead,” he said.

The Area Head encouraged the participants to use the media to spread the good news, disciple members and transform society for Christ.

The Media Ministry Pastor, Apostle Dan Nii Tetteh Tackie, who was the guest speaker, said the seminar was needful and timely, since it falls in line with the role the Media Ministry will play in achieving and implementing the five-year strategic vision.

He admonished the participants to use the media to propagate the basic message to possess the nations since the Church has the authentic message and unadulterated gospel to reach out to the nations.

“The media informs, educates, and entertains the public. It is the responsibility of the Media Ministry to give information about Christ and educate the world about the Kingdom,” he said.

Apostle Tackie encouraged the participants to foster friendship between the Church and the various media houses.

Pastor Twene Adane Justice, the Dunkwa Area Media Pastor, advised the participants to take advantage of the social media to propagate the gospel. He encouraged them to be active on Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms, saying, “Social media is a nation on its own.”

He also advised them to safeguard their souls from excesses that can affect their Christian lives by avoiding watching phonograph materials and other contents that contradict the teachings of Christ.

A total of 140 persons attended the seminar.
