The Children’s Ministry of the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC)-Sakumono, climaxed its week-long activities on Sunday, September 16, 2018, with a variety of performances ranging from poetry, Bible recitals, choreography, songs, a military parade and an exhortation, among others.

The climax of the annual week celebration also witnessed the graduation of 12 members from the Children’s Ministry to the Youth Ministry.

In a sermon, a Sunday school child, Miss Mawulorm Afeku, quoted Proverbs 11:30; Colossians 3:23-24, and urged children to worship God with all their heart and mind, and respect their parents.

She urged them to look up to God for progress in life and to serve God whilst they are young. Miss Afeku also urged parents to train their children in the fear of the Lord.

The week started on Monday, September 10, with a Zonal meeting of the Sakumono Zone.  On Tuesday, Mrs. Regina Kofie preached on the theme: “Christian Parenting” with Bible reference from 1 John 2: 24-27. She urged parents to instill the fear of God in their wards just as Timothy’s mother and grandmother, Eunice and Lois, did for him, saying, “The Sunday school teachers are only helping and guiding your wards.”

Mrs. Kofie urged parents to go the extra mile to sacrifice for their wards so they can grow in favour with God and man. She further encouraged parents to make time to interact with their wards.

On Wednesday, September 12, the outgoing Resident Minister, Pastor Jonathan Kofie, took the children through several action songs and the ministry’s anthem. Pastor Kofie engaged the parents in a game of “Multiples of three” which sought to help them improve the listening, observational and reasoning skills of their children.

On Thursday, September 13, the children were treated to a movie on the servant leadership attitude of the Lord Jesus Christ from the famous super book series.

On Friday, the ministry held a programme dubbed “Ask Mum and Dad” where the children asked parents some mind-boggling questions. Some of the interesting questions the children asked were: “Why is it that children do not participate in the Lord’s Supper?” “Why is it that parents stop us from watching television after 8pm while they continue to watch?” “Mum always tells us not to talk when eating but I always see mum eating and talking on phone,” “Why is it that parents do not keep their promises?” and “My big brother and I [a girl] used to bath together but now mum say we cannot bath together again, why?”

On Saturday, the children embarked on a half-day fasting and prayer session to seek the face of God.

Pastor Jonathan Kofie congratulated the teachers and the children for a wonderful week celebration.
