The Women’s Ministry of the Mamponteng District of The Church of Pentecost on Mother’s Day [Sunday, 13th May, 2018] paid a surprise visit to the Queen Mother of the Mamponteng Traditional Area, Nana Kyerew Akenten II.
The women were led to the palace by the wife of the District Pastor, Mrs. Abena Agyemang Acquah; the District Women’s Ministry Leader, Mrs. Mavis Addai and Deaconess Mary Braso of the English Assembly. The presented a citation to her.
Nana Kyerew Akenten II, known in private life as Maame Abena Adutwumwaa, is a member of The Church of Pentecost and worships at the Asokwa Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC). Her relationship with the Church in the Mamponteng District has been pleasant, hence the recognition of her noble effort by the Women’s Ministry.
Nana Kyerew Akenten expressed great delight and satisfaction in the honour done her by the Women’s Ministry. “I am very grateful to the District Minister, Pastor Jerry Acquah, Women’s Ministry leaders and Sofomaame Abena Agyemang for the love shown this day. It is my prayer that the Church will advance especially in their era. There must be a great difference in Jesus name,” she said.
Part of the citation read: “There is no mother like you, Abena Adutwumwaa; always breaking defenses, fighting the lost cause of her family; the greatest gift of all is the existence of you; you saw the unforeseen and armed us; you empowered us with hope to hold on; and strengthened our weakness to keep on. Happy Mother’s Day, Nana Kyerew Akenten II.”
