The Youth Director of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle David Nyansah Hayfron, has paid a day’s visit to the Kaneshie Area to participate in the Area’s Youth Joint Service.

The service, which took place at the Darkuman Central Assembly auditorium on Saturday, April 17, 2018, was well attended by youth members from all 21 districts in the Area.

Addressing the gathering, Apostle Hayfron charged the youth to love God supremely with all their heart, soul, mind and strength.

Speaking on the topic, “Remain in Christ, the Command to Love God Supremely,” with scripture references from 2 Timothy 1:13-14, Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Matthew 22:36-40, Mark 12:28-31, Luke 10:25-28 and John 13:34, the Youth Director revealed that two key elements that will enable Christians to remain in Christ and His basic message are faith and love.

According to him, these are the foundational pillars upon which sound doctrine can be upheld, saying, “They are therefore virtues that are needed to remain in Christ.”

He said: “Right knowledge can only yield right actions with the bridges of faith in Christ and love for the Lord. Furthermore, faith helps the believer to accept and believe the word of God without questions, and love causes the believer to obey the word of God.”

Apostle Hayfron observed that love is a habit since it is learnt through practice. He therefore advised young people to form positive habits such as loving God, because negative habits are difficult to do away with once they are formed.

Quoting the “Shema” from Deuteronomy 6:4-5, he stated that loving God is not a feeling, but a resolved decision to love Him with the heart which is the seat of decision, thought, understanding and freewill.

“In loving God, we must understand and accept that God becomes our master with whom we have unresolved allegiance,” he stated.

Apostle Nyansah Hayfron concluded the sermon by advising young people to calibrate and redirect their love towards God in order to avoid any form of shipwreck in life.

He indicated that love for God should be expressed at all times, both in good and bad times.

Three persons gave their lives to Christ while eight others rededicated their lives to Christ.

Present at the event were Pastor Daniel Okyei Boakye (Kaneshie Area Youth Pastor), Mrs. Sheila Hayfron (wife of the Youth Director), and some ministers in the Area and their wives.
