The Assin Foso Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Sylvester Arhin, has urged pastors to go back to the frontline of the Christian battle, because Christianity is under attack.

Apostle Arhin stated this at the Ministers and Wives’ session of the 2018 Tema Area Officers Retreat held at the Community 12 Church auditorium.

Reading from 2 Samuel 11:11, Apostle Arhin gave an exposition on the profound statement Uriah made when King David wanted to persuade him to go home and sleep with his wife in order to cover up for his [David’s] fornication. “Uriah said to David, ‘The ark and Israel and Judah are staying in tents, and my master Joab and my lord’s men are camped in the open fields. How could I go to my house to eat and drink and lie with my wife? As surely as you live, I will not do such a thing!” (2 Samuel 11:11, NIV).

According to him, just as kings in the Old Testament went to war, ministers of the gospel also do serious battle to safeguard the gospel, saying, “Christianity is under attack; in some countries it is a crime to see the Bible let alone possess it.”

Apostle Arhin further established that institutions set up by God such as the family are also under attack as same sex marriage is being promoted in developed countries to the detriment of the family system which is catching up fast with many nations.

The former missionary stated that leadership is also under attack, therefore, Christians must continue to pray for their leaders and always try to encourage them. He encouraged church leaders to be courageous in their fight against false doctrines to save the Church from dying as is the case in Europe.

The Area Officers Retreat dubbed, ‘Apostolization’ is an annual programme organised in the Church to teach lay leaders on the theme of the year in order to give them a deeper understanding of the direction of the Church for the particular year.

In attendance was the Tema Area Head and his wife, Apostle Matthew and Elizabeth Larbi Wettey and all ministers and their wives in the Tema Area.
