EXPOSITION
The Jews and the Samaritans have been like cat and mouse even before Jesus was born. Most Jews would not travel through Samaria and any contact with Samarians. It shows how bad their relationship was.
Despite this unfriendliness, it was a Samaritan who helped a Jew in need. Their differences didn’t stop him from being kind to the Jew. Even the priest and Levites who were also Jews did not help their fellow Jew in need.
LESSON LEARNT: Don’t give excuses when you could be kind to others.
