EXPOSITION
The word of God is also referred to as the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17).
This sword pierces and cuts the hearts to respond to the gospel. When Peter was preaching in Cornelius’ house, the Holy Spirit fell on the audience. This act of grace prepared their hearts to receive the Holy Spirit.
Note from this experience that when you open your heart sincerely to receive the word of God it creates an avenue for the Holy Spirit to fall on you.
