DEALING WITH YOUR EMOTIONS (HAPPINESS)

Proverbs 4:13-15, 20-23

EXPOSITION

When you become first in all your inter – schools’ athletics competition and everyone is hailing you, you become happy. Likewise when your father gets you a new dress for Christmas you will be happy right.

These and many more are things that make you smile. You tend to enjoy your success with friends and take all the glory for yourselves.

Apostle James admonishes that the happy person should sing songs of praise. He meant you should always acknowledge God in your moments of happiness. LESSON LEARNT: Your expression of happiness should be pointed at God.

Heavenly Father, I thank you for the happiness I have as your son. Amen.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8 (NIV)
