The Sefwi Bekwai Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Vincent Anane Denteh, has called on church officers to cater for both the spiritual and the physical needs of their members.
Speaking at his maiden meeting with all officers in the Area to launch his five-year strategic plan for the Area, Apostle Anane Denteh stressed that showing concern to only the spiritual matters of the members and neglecting their physical well-being is not the best practice.
He emphasized the need to empower the youth and the unemployed in the church to be equipped for the job market. “If we have a church that has a high number of its members being unemployed, it tends to have a toll on their social lives,” he pointed out.
He, therefore, urged ministers and officers of the church to organise entrepreneurship training for the members to equip them with various employable skills.
Apostle Anane Denteh admonished Christians not to neglect the aged and bedridden members in the church who find it difficult to attend church services to fellowship with their colleagues.
“Let us try to pay regular visits to these people, administer Lord’s Supper to them during Communion days, share God’s Word with them, and keep encouraging them to be resilient in their faith,” he added.
The programme was attended by over 800 officers from all the 15 districts as well as the ministers and wives in the Area. It coincided with the launch of the Area’s 5-year strategic plan document.
