Exposition
Doctrine is the body of beliefs, principles and teachings fundamental to the Christian faith. It is the core tenets that comprise the basic, indisputable precept that defines what every Christian should believe. If we wish to know what we believe, and why we believe what we believe, we should make Bible study a regular habit in our Christian walk. This is because the fundamental doctrines of Christianity are based on what the Bible teaches.
God’s word is the supreme and final source and standard of truth (Ps. 119:160, John 17:17). We need God’s word to find a much greater understanding of His person, plans and purposes. The word of God is the only authentic source which conveys to us God’s wisdom concerning the great questions of human existence: Is there a God? How can we know Him? Who are we? Why is there death and suffering? How do I know right from wrong? These and many other questions are answered in the Bible from God’s all-knowing authoritative perspective.
We desperately need to know the living God and know ourselves as revealed in His word of truth. To do this, you need to expose yourself to scripture, you need to study it more in-depth, you need to memorize key verses, and you need to meditate on God’s word in order to have a balance of the whole counsel of God.
