Exposition
It is normal to be sad, frustrated or angry about being single. You may not understand why you are still single but there’s a reason to hope and believe that change is possible. Trusting God with your single life is a way of enjoying this season of your life. To trust God is to believe in His promises concerning your life.
Proverbs 3:5-6 invites you to “trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path. In trusting God to fulfil His plans, you must do that with all your heart. It is important to have faith in God’s will. God has said in His word in Eccl. 3:11 that He makes everything beautiful in His time. You must solely rely on His word that when the right time comes, He will fulfil all that He has said concerning you. Remember that God responds to your faith even if it is small as the mustard seed. You must have faith that God will provide a husband/wife in His perfect timing.
Additionally, it is necessary to listen to God’s plan through prayer. Through prayer, you let God know the desires of your heart. In trusting God with your single life, commit your ways to God and He will give you the desires of your heart (Psalms 37:4). As you commit your ways and heed His counsel, it is then that He will graciously lead your path. The Lord also blesses His children with good gifts, so it behoves you to trust Him to bless you with a good gift (husband/wife).
It is an indisputable fact that the period of singlehood comes with challenges such as loneliness, low self-esteem and undue pressure from family but when you trust God, you are certain that God is always with you.
